Just broke it off with the love of my life help?

He broke it off with me actually, after I complained about him controlling me about a party that I had intentions on going without him. Me and my bf have been dating almost two years and we waited 6 months into our relationship to become ually active. I really wanted to make sure he was the one. Little did I know it would end so tragically to the point where I cannot sleep at night. He's been ignoring me for the past week and has been acting very strange, yet he claims to not be cheating. Last week when we spoken in person he let me know that we should stay friends but he doesn't want to "lose" me. It hurt so bad when he told me that because all I wanted him to was apologize for his ruthless outburst about the party. Not to mention, he was quick to let me know that he refuses to change for some girl. Some girl? He really must think low of me to say something like that. How do I cope with this pain? Should I let this go, and move on or call him up and have a discussion?
