Why do people always get Genghis Khan and Attila the Hun mixed up?

People in the 'West' get them mixed up because they don't know 'Eastern' history very well. Attila and the Huns came from the Asian steppes and invaded Europe and Genghis and the Mongols came from the steppes and invaded parts of Europe...so they seem similar in European eyes so despite being separated by 900 years they get them mixed up.
