I am wondering if I should send my daughter to a private Christian school?

My daughter is a sweet well liked kid that will try to do what is right. She is in the 3rd grade and lately my happy child has become a bit sad because some of the girls that she hangs out with are just ruthless in their ongoing drama. They are constantly manipulating her and asking her to pick sides or else they will start yelling or excluding her . She is at the point that she comes home crying. She says she wants to be left alone and just want to concentrate with school. The girls now are all about drama and popularity and I feel my daughter is not like that. I caught her praying at night that she wants the meanesss to stop and it broke my heart. A 9 yr old should not be worrying about this type of issues. I thought about sending her to a catholic school because I am Catholic but the school is full and to tell u the truth it can happen there too. I heard that the Christian schools are so much more nurturing but I feel I would be sheltering her from the real world.
